Bengali New Year

According to the Bengali calendar, 14th April is celebrated as the Bengali New Year. It is either known as Pahela Baishakh or Bangla Noboborso. In some years, it is even celebrated on the 15th of April rather than on 14th April.

This year there is neither pomp and show nor merriment of the arrival of the new year among us. There is only anticipation of well being of near and dear ones and as well as people of the world.

I yearn that with this arrival of the new year comes the light of hope in the midst of this dark situation. May every person stay safe and healthy and celebrate the new year within the walls of their houses and make it possible to win over this deadly coronavirus with protective measures (i.e. maintaining social distance by staying at home)and prayers.

About the painting- It is inspired from Google.
